John is a highly-seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience in executive management, program ownership, policy development, assurance models and methods, and critical programs management.

Since 2006, John has operated as an expert-level gated assurance reviewer and evaluator, providing valuable insights to a wide range of digital transformation and infrastructure programs and projects across Commonwealth and state governments in Australia and New Zealand. Prior to his career as an independent executive consultant, John held prominent senior executive positions within the Australian Commonwealth Government Public Service. He has served as the Assistant Secretary of the Department of Finance, Chief Information Officer of the Department of Health and Ageing, and the Executive General Manager of the Clean Energy Regulator, where he delivered the Carbon Emissions Trading Scheme for Australia, General Manager of the Commonwealth Gateway Review Unit, and spent six years as a senior executive at SAP®, where he supported and advised the SAP® APJ (including ANZ) public sector business and strategies.

John’s experience encompasses a diverse range of roles, from central agencies and policy agencies to service delivery agencies. He has successfully led several high-profile Commonwealth Government delivery programs, guiding them from inception to completion. Currently, John serves as the independent assurance executive advisor to the ACT Heritage Board, NSW Justice, Revenue NSW, Services Australia and the Department of Defence, as well as a number of highly-classified Commonwealth programs.
